Why do we use pre-inked flash stamps for most of our stamp templates?
Self-Inking stamps use water based inks and have a rubber plate that is mounted inside the stamp that sits on a small conventional stamp pad, when pushed down the stamp flips up and down to make an impression. They are good for around 6,000 impressions before a re-inking or new pad is required.
Pre-Inked stamps use permament oil based inks that is stored in a reservoir behind the imprint area; a simple press down makes an impression with a cleaner sharper imprint; they can use smaller text and are available in larger sizes and more ink colors than self-inking stamps. They are good for about 20,000 impressions before re-inking is required.
